Hi, I’m Jenna

I’m a medical illustrator at the University of Georgia’s College of Veterinary Medicine.

I received my BFA in Painting from Southwestern University’s Sarofim School of Fine Arts in Georgetown, Texas, then spent my twenties in Austin working in the commercial print and ad agency world in a variety of creative roles. Just before the pandemic, I completed by Master Naturalist certification. This intensive experience sparked an interest in science communication, which eventually led me to obtain my Medical Art MSc at the University of Dundee in Scotland.

Intersectionality, social equity, and environmental sustainability are central to how I navigate the world both personally and professionally. The goal of my medical illustration practice is to inspire curiosity about the natural world through meaningful visual storytelling that make scientific topics more accessible and relatable for all.

When I’m not behind a screen you can find me toiling in the garden, crafting with [insert intense yet fleeting obsession here], doting on my wire-haired terrier mutt, or hiking a trail. Speaking of trails… click here to check out the detailed blog I kept of my 2021 Appalachian Trail thruhike!
